Job Duties and Responsibilities
As a diesel mechanic at Titan Diesel Sports, your day-to-day responsibilities will focus on the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of Ram Cummins trucks. Our diesel mechanics are expected to:
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair various types of Ram Cummins truck equipment
- Perform routine service, oil changes, and maintenance to ensure vehicles are running at optimal performance levels.
- Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose problems and determine necessary repairs using various diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Conduct thorough documentation of diagnostic test results, repairs, and parts used, ensuring accuracy and clarity in reporting.
- Maintain a high level of productivity while working independently and managing time efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients, both verbally and in writing, ensuring clarity and professionalism at all times.
Skills and Qualifications
Titan Diesel Sports is looking for candidates who have the following qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience as an automotive technician, with a strong preference for diesel mechanic experience. Experience working on light-duty diesel trucks, specifically Dodge Ram Cummins models, is highly valuable.
Mechanical Aptitude: Strong skills in diagnostics and troubleshooting are essential, especially when it comes to diesel technology and diesel engines.
Detail-Oriented: The ability to remain focused and maintain attention to detail, especially when working with diagnostic test results and handling heavy parts and machinery, is critical.
Teamwork and Independence: While this role requires independent work, a team mentality is vital. We need someone who enjoys collaborating and contributing to a positive work environment.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. and be comfortable working with equipment and vehicles. Physical stamina and strength are important in this role, as mechanics will often be required to work on heavy parts and vehicles.
Tools: Personal hand tools adequate for job functions are required, as they are essential for daily tasks.
Education and Certification: A high school diploma or equivalent is a bonus, but not required. Certification from the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) or equivalent is not mandatory. At the end of the day, we care about what you know and how well you work.
License: A valid driver’s license is necessary for transporting vehicles in and out of the shop.
